Toyota taking future Mobility seriously at KLIMS 2018

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) announced the outline of the concept cars and brand new executive sedan and compact sedan at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) 2018 at Malaysian International Trade Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur starting from 23 November through 2 December.

Following this year’s theme for KLIMS “Beyond Mobility”, Toyota concept car showcases the mobility technologies that Toyota has developed globally like the Concept I-series which is not just a design exercise, nor just a car. It's a beautiful object that becomes your partner, thanks to AI and connected technologies.

The Concept I-series looks towards a future where people, society and cars are linked together. It can capture your state of mind and keep you engaged to reduce the risk factors of accidents. It understands what you like, what you want to do, and establishes a new relationship with you.

According to Mr. Ravindran, “Toyota is committed to transforming itself from a Car Company to a Mobility Company.  It is about taking the responsibility to make "Mobility for All" a reality.  Our Principal has also launched a global Corporate Initiative "Start Your Impossible”, inspired by its partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). For us in Malaysia, it's much more than a few words. It is about taking the responsibility to make "Mobility for All" a reality.”

Toyota believes that mobility goes beyond cars. It is about overcoming challenges and making dreams come true. In partnership with UMWT, he will be championing the “Start Your Impossible” cause through his local Hero Project that will see support and aid being given to children with special needs in the advancement of proper education, mobilising the realisation of their own passion and dreams.

Toyota also brings in several concept vehicles to be showcased at the 2018 KLIMS for the public.

The FT-1 stands for “Future Toyota,” and the number “1” represents the ultimate. According to its designers at Calty Design Research, the FT-1 Concept is the ultimate expression of a Toyota coupe design, building upon Toyota’s rich sports coupe heritage.

The Toyota TS030 Hybrid is a Le Mans Prototype 1 (LMP1) sports car built by Toyota Motorsport GmbH and Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan, used by the manufacturer in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2012 and 2013. It was Toyota's first all new prototype since the GT-One last competed in 1999. The TS030 Hybrid made its race debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans making it the first petrol-hybrid car to compete in the WEC.

Toyota Gazoo Racing involvement by UMWT are through the Vios Challenge and TGR Racing Festival which is now in second season. On display is the new Vios Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) concept combines the newly revealed Vios in TGR colors and dynamic bodykit to showcase the sporty character of the all-new Toyota Vios.

Keeping its deep-rooted soul but now with sportier and advanced exterior, the All-new Toyota Vios is previewed for the first time in the country at KLIMS 2018.
